St. Louis Balloon Race

I revisited some photos from this past summer's balloon race. It's an annual event in St. Louis.  If you get the chance, it's a must see.

Rebekah 2012

Beautiful senior session down in the Soulard Market and Lafayette areas.  We had a wonderful evening for taking pictures.  Congrats and wish you the best as you head off to college.

Molly 2012

I've been a little behind getting the sessions up on the blog...it's been a crazy spring for all of us.  Finally doing some catch-up!

This was a fun session with a very sweet girl.  We had a great time out at Tower Grove Park, St. Louis.

Jason 2012 - Part 2

Mariellen 2012

I had the privilege of photographing Mariellen for her senior portraits a couple weeks ago.  We had a lot of fun down in the Soulard Market area.  It was a bit cool that evening and the wind was not cooperating, but we were persistent and it paid off.  Wish Mariellen the best as she heads off to college this fall.

Spring

This spring has been unusually warm this year.  I haven't been able to get out to photograph as much as I'd like, but I was able to get out a few times and capture some of God's handiwork.  The trees have all been in full bloom making gorgeous photos to work with.

Revisiting Fall

I didn't seem to have near enough time to get out and enjoy Fall this year.  I managed to get a trip out to Forest Park.  We've been busy planning a wedding for my oldest, so I haven't had much time for photo editing.  Thought I'd go ahead and post a few of the photos from this year's ventures out.

Sun Stars and Lens Flares

When John had the idea to shoot the Arch with the sun behind it, I was reminded of something I had read about creating sun stars in photography.  This can be done with any kind of lights...tree lights, street lights, sun, stars.  In manual mode, set your aperture really high like f18-f22, then adjust your other settings for correct exposure.  Here are a few I created this weekend. 

My aperture wasn't high enough to create the sun star in this first one, but I got a lens flare, which still gave it a nice effect.

This, although looks like a night shot, was taken late morning.
